Obadiah's Woodstoves & Alternative Energy
"If it burns, we deal with it"
Obadiah's is a small family run business located in Northwestern Montana. Born and raised in Michigan, and after 20 years in the construction business, we moved out west to fulfill a lifelong dream of ours. We operate our business from northwestern Montana, situated on a beautiful river, overlooking a small valley. This is a place most people only dream of. We live among a unique group of people. Most are God fearing, free spirited, independent, liberty loving, folks. Our home is completely off grid aside from our phone system. We have sought to live as independent as possible. We try to give back to nature what we take. Eventually we would like to build a greenhouse, in which to grow fresh vegetables, year round. This has been a dream come true for us, we feel truly blessed to be able to live here and make our living this way.
We use
the sun to generate our electricity via our
solar panels, our home and hot water is heated with wood, also a
renewable resource. There are many fallen trees on the ground nearby,
from which we gather our firewood. Our home is our lab. We live
what we sell. We don't claim to be experts in all forms of alternative
energy and housing, but we do have a passion to learn and help others learn.
We love what we do and we look forward to the future friendships that will
develop as a result of this business. We are more than happy to share our
knowledge with you, so you wont have to repeat the mistakes we've made.
You too can live this way, today's technology makes it so much easier. Modern
electronic inverters, more efficient solar panels, and better batteries
make it possible. Satellite systems allow us to watch what is going on in
the world, along with high speed broadband internet connections, with which
to connect to the World Wide Web. Although we live in the boonies, we have
most of the modern comforts that city folk do, without many of the hassles.
We definately don't miss the traffic; up here we joke that you could pitch
a tent in the middle of the road without much fear of getting run over.
Our
business philosophy is very simple; treat
others the way you want to be treated. We try to keep things
as simple as possible. We hope to be worthy of what is given us, most valuable
istrust.
If we fall short and we know we will because,
after all, we are only human, please give us the chance to make it right.
Tell us, not your friends. If we meet your expectations tell your friends,
we rely on you to help us grow.
Our
mission is two-fold. Not only do we provide unique quality Hearth Products,
but we are also involved infighting
wildfires across this great nation. In addition to being involved with the
local volunteer fire department, we also assist in disaster management, utilizing
our highly specialized emergency apparatus. Our primary goal is to provide
support to our fellow Americans in their time of need. We have experienced
first hand the desperation and helpless feeling when our new home was surrounded
by wildfires, during the Firestorms of 2000.
The western US had been swept by wildfires and the situation had grown desperate.
After weeks of calling the USFS and begging them to take action, we purchased
a Type 6 Wildland Engine to help defend our home. This was the birth of Obadiah's
Wildfire Fighters. Our motto; "Extinguishing
Mediocrity" speaks of the type of equipment Obadiah's has designed
and built. Our equipment is unique as it is diverse. Starting with our Solar
Powered Mobile Command/Communications Unit, we are able to provide Incident
Management Teams with state of the art technology virtually anywhere. Our
Soft Track Skidgines are the battle tanks of the wildfire arena. Based on
the same platform that the infamous Bradley Fighting Vehicle that has proved
so successful in Iraq, it is capable of carrying large amounts of foam and
water in very rough terrain. For more information on the other aspect of Obadiah's,
please visit our website; www.wildfirefighters.com
.

In recognition of the sacrifices and dedication of our fellowfirefighters
and men and women serving in our armed forces, we offer an additional 5% discount
off our already low prices. This is simply Obadiah's way of
saying Thank you
! for all you've done and are doing to insure our, Life, Liberty, and Pursuit
of Happiness. Without folks like you, the world would be a much more dangerous
place than it already is. We'd also like to encourage all who feel so lead,
to please remember these
folks in your prayers. They are laying their lives on the line for
us, the least we can do is cover them in prayer, for
their safety, their loved ones who also sacrifice behind the scenes, and their
ability to carry out the mission laid out before them. Their willingness
to take the battle to the enemies back yards, has made our lives here at home,
much safer. Keeping the enemy looking over his shoulder all the time has made
it very hard for them to strike us again, harming many innocent civilians,
as they did in their cowardly actions on 9/11.
So
the bottom line here in our mission is to be; a
personable, friendly, caring company, that provides a service to our
customers, that they find valuable and rewarding.
We want you to feel like you matter to us, because without
you, there is no business. You
might be wondering how we got the name Obadiah's. Obadiah is one of
the shortest books in the Old Testament. The book was a prophetic warning
of what would happen to a nation that turns it's back on God. The name means;
'Servant of God'.
That is our greatest mission in life aside from our businesses, to be worthy
of His calling. Sincerely,
Larry
Chain and Family The
pictures below are our gift to you, they are pictures of the beautiful area
in which we live. I have taken each of the pictures myself so the copyrights
belong to us. These pictures are our way to share our wonderful home with
you. They are also our way of showing our appreciation of you, our customers.
Enjoy them as our gift to you, so, please feel free to use them anyway you'd
like, from Montana with love.

This river is the western border of Glacier National Park, in Montana.

This
is the North Fork of the Yaak River which runs next to our home. This is actually
our front yard. Our children swim in the swimming hole that is about 18' deep.
Yes we feel very blessed!! Oh yeah! You can barely see the Black Bear crossing
the river, but there is one about 200 yards away where the river narrows on
the left side coming out of the shadows. We have Mountain Lions here, as well
as Grizzly, Timber Wolves, Moose, Elk, Muley and White Tail Deer, by the tons,
and even an occasional Caribou or two. Wild Turkeys walk around in our yard
like they live here. Nature abounds, and we love to watch the animals in their
natural habitat.
This is our side yard running along the river. Notice the solar panels on
the upper left, these panels provide the electricity that powers our home.
Yes, you can live this way!
These are the Lower Yaak Falls. The picture really does not do them justice.
Very Beautiful!
These are the Upper Yaak Falls, once again the picture does not do them justice!
Thank you for allowing us to share our blessings with you. We hope that you
have enjoyed our pictures, if your dream is what we live, we encourage you
not to give up. We were raised in the hustle and bustle near Detroit. Our
dream was to raise our family in a place were everywhere you looked, you would
see the majesty of God Almighty. We believe that God answered our prayers;
He made a way for us to live our dream here. All of this happened miraculously.
God made a way, where there was no way!! If this is your dream, we would
encourage you to seek Him with all your might. His desire is to bless His
children just as much as it is for us to bless our own children. Seek ye first
the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added
unto you. Jesus Christ died to make a way so that we could have a personal
relationship with God the Father. Simply accept the gift which is freely given
and freely shall you receive. We may let you down, but Jesus Christ never
will. He says, that He whom He calls friends, are friends indeed. How many
friends do you know whom would lay down their own lives for you? He has, so
you can live life more abundantly! Praise God!!
